Overview:
Educators are committed to giving their students the very best education possible. But not every student has been afforded the resources or educational foundation to equip them for college prep and advanced courses. This one-day workshop explores strategies, techniques and skills that empower diverse student populations to develop higher order critical thinking skills and college readiness skills. We will learn how to cultivate safe intellectual forums for students, helping students to develop a self-advocacy and an ethos of confidence. The goal of this workshop is to help instructors help students to access and explore their intellectual and cultural curiosities.
