Overview:
Advanced classes like college prep and AP® courses can be intimidating to new students. This workshop gives instructors what they need in order to motivate and boost students’ confidence as they prepare to embark on their college journey. Instruction focuses on the key strategies all teachers need to strengthen their content lessons in order to prepare all students for AP® courses. We’ll discuss scaffolding, cooperative learning structures, academic vocabulary, differentiated and culturally responsive instruction.

Learning Objectives

Participants will:
• Understand how to implement instructional scaffolding to aid students in their learning journey,
• Learn how to use cooperative learning structures to enhance classroom participation and student engagement,
• Master academic vocabulary, and
• Expand instructional techniques for a differentiated and culturally diverse classroom.
